Meet us at Smokehouse Brewing so we can load you up for a great Sunday (on occasion Saturday) road trip to explore three breweries well worth the drive including one that is not open to the general public.
Our first stop is at Buckeye Lake Brewery, a cozy brewpub set in a cleverly converted gas station on the main strip of Buckeye Lake. Here we will learn about their “Franken-brewing origins while enjoying a pizza paired with four signature Buckeye Lake Brewery beers.
Then, the tour hops over to Homestead Beer Company, a micro brewery housed on a former air force base. The brewers at Homestead specialize in session beers. In addition to samples, guests will receive an opportunity to get an overview of the brewing process.
We conclude the tour with a behind the scenes visit to Granville Brewing Company, a former nano now micro brewery that is not typically open to the public. Here we’ll learn about their hearty Belgian style beers, growing sour program and their small batch bottling process. We will also learn a bit about ingredients and beer styles. This contrasting set of breweries offers a great introduction to Ohio microbreweries and a fun Sunday afternoon day trip.
Our van has storage for up to 12 growlers and guests may have time to purchase additional samples or pints on their own depending on remaining time at each site.
